Still, it will be less pricey than a painting or many wall art pieces. This display also took a few hours to create, but the result was very satisfying despite the extra time and expense. I found the vine to be exquisite. I admire it often and know I will enjoy seeing it for some years to come.

Cheesecloth may be the ideal material for crafting ghosts for Halloween decor; its gauzy, thin composition shreds quickly to make it look ages older than it is. Cheesecloth is light enough, even when treated with a fabric stiffener, to create miniature and life-sized ghosts shaped any way you like. The key to any project with fabric stiffener is creating a solid mold (otherwise known as an armature) that you can drape the fabric or cloth over. You will wet the fabric with the stiffener and then hang it over the mold (balloon). The mold needs to retain its shape until the stiffener is dry. Once the Ghost is dry, you can remove the mold. Then your Ghost stands on its own!

DIY How to Make Your Decorate Plain Headbands How to Decorate a Headband
Choose the ribbon or trim. Craft stores are full of cute ribbons and trim. For decorating headbands, choosing a thin ribbon or trim measuring 1” wide or less is best. Ideally, it will be the same width as the elastic you use.
If you choose ribbons or trim with embellishments like beads and sequins, ensure they are only on one side of the ribbon. This way, it won’t get caught in your hair.
When possible, choose trim and ribbon that contains a bit of elastic in the fabric to make wearing decorative headbands more comfortable. Tug on the ribbon or trim to see if it stretches. If it does, then it contains some elasticity. You can also use elastic-free ribbon or trim with no issues, though.
Most fabric and craft stores offer spools of elastic in different colors and widths. You will want to find elastic that is thinner than the ribbon or trim you have chosen, so make sure you know the measurements of your ribbon.
Elastic usually comes in black and white, but you may be able to find other colors as well. Remember that the elastic will be on the bottom half of the headband, but it may still be visible when you wear it.
Next, you will need to cut the ribbon and elastic so that the ribbon is long enough to wrap around most of your head, and a few inches of elastic connect the ends of the ribbon. Measure them around your DIY decorative headband first to determine how long you need your ribbon.
Wrap the ribbon you’ve chosen around your head from the top of your forehead to the nape of your neck or where you would like your DIY headband to sit. Place your finger on the end of the ribbon where it begins to overlap and mark it with a pen or chalk.
Measure five inches inward from this spot that you have marked, and then cut the fabric here.
Next, cut four inches of elastic band. This material will connect the two ends of your ribbon. It is essential to leave an inch off the total measurement of elastic so that the headband will sit tight enough on your head to prevent it from sliding off. You can always use a little less elastic if you want an even tighter headband.
Wear your new DIY decorative headband. After you finish sewing the elastic to the ribbon or trim, your headband is complete. You can layer it underneath your hair or wear it in the popular bohemian style wrapped over your forehead.

But with all of the signs I’ve made, somehow, I haven’t ever shared a complete start-to-finish tutorial with all of my best tips and tricks for making beautiful DIY wood signs; all you need are a few inexpensive supplies and a bit of know-how.
MATERIALS
The materials you need will depend somewhat on which sign-painting method you choose, but this list will get you started.
Wood sign base – I like to make signs from plain 3/4″ birch plywood. You can buy this pretty inexpensively at your local home improvement store. Craft stores also sell many pre-cut blank signs in various styles and sizes.
Paint for the background of your sign – Any paint will work for this, including small craft paints, paint samples, and chalk paint.

I have never planted bonsai and have limited gardening experience, so hopefully, this will turn out. I was willing to try it, however.

This year’s new Easter green moss grass bunny decor from amazon seems to be adorable green grass-style bunnies. They are reminiscent of bushes that are pruned into the shape of animals. The Easter green moss bunnies are either sitting up on their hind legs or sitting with their legs down. I have a lot of Easter decor, but these bunnies were hard to resist. Although, I did limit myself to the one that is crouched down. I thought it was the easier one to spruce up just a bit. I wanted to add a new Easter grass rabbit to my collection since finding out that these animals symbolize hope.
Hot glued several flowers to the bunny and selected various pastel-colored flowers to bring a feeling of spring to the rabbit. The flowers also add a sense of cheer. This easy creation makes a beautiful edible floral display for spring and Easter.
Colorful gum drops, cookies with a center hole, wooden skewers, and a container are all you need to put together this project. You may wish to stick the skewers in floral foam, especially if you aren’t using a see-through container like a terra cotta pot. If you are using a washed glass container, you could use green M&M’,s which would represent grass. A terra-cotta pot could be left plain or painted if you wish. The colors are your choice. I would suggest not putting any unwrapped candy in an unwashed container.
Take care not to stick yourself with the pointed end of the skewers. This colorful bouquet is easy to assemble and so lovely to display. Wrap in cellophane and topped with a bow, can be given as a coveted gift for any special occasion or as a thank-you gift. It is a present that is sure to be appreciated. Fun to create, lovely to display, and delicious to eat.

Once you have made one of these Easter door knob hangers, you will be addicted and want to make one for your children or grandchildren so that each child has their decoration. Stickers, stencils or a marker can be personalized with their names. Each one can then be hung on the child’s bedroom door. They won’t want to take them down when the holiday is over. These are that cute.
Be sure and make one for yourself. The supplies are simple. I need some larger popsicle sticks, different colored felt or wooden cutout eggs, and a colored pipe cleaner. You can use items on hand to decorate the popsicle sticks if you wish. Just jump in and make this craft.

Get ready for St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, and spring with these easy-to-create treats that double as a colorful floral bouquet.
Grab a jar, some green M&M’s, assorted colors of jelly beans, and wooden skewers. Though our creation with the color selection leans toward St. Patrick’s Day, you can use different colors of jelly beans so that your bouquet is more for Easter or spring. Make the design your own, depending on your tastes. Ours mimics the colors of the Irish flag, which we created with popsicle sticks in a previous video. The green M&M’s represent grass, so you may choose to keep that aspect.
After displaying the lovely food bouquet, you may be tempted to eat the edible arrangement. That is acceptable. Munch and enjoy as you celebrate the seasons and spring holidays. You could do a count down to St. Patrick’s Day or Easter by tasting one skewer each day. I could use it as a Christmas version of the Advent calendar, possibly counting down 10 or 12 days instead of 24.

Crafting is a pleasurable hobby, and some darling St. Patrick’s Day items are to be made. This video will show you one such project. Even if you aren’t of Irish descent, once you realize all the possible projects there are to make for the March 17 holiday, you will be swept into the creativity. St. Patrick’s Day Shadow Box Decoration

Shamrock Shadow Box This St. Patrick’s Day Shadow Box decoration is a fine piece that is still simple to make and lends itself well to different variations.
You can easily select your own colors and design when creating this decoration. First, paint the frame, stain it or leave it natural. Next, choose your holiday-appropriate scrapbooking paper for the background. The green shamrock could be enhanced with a white paint edging or a white chalk writer. The shamrock could also be raised up by gluing a tower block to the back.
Other options would be adding a white, green or twine bow to the shamrock or the background. Although this piece easily stands on its own, it could also be hung by stringing wood beads on twine and hot gluing the tails of the twine to the back. Leave the beads a natural color or paint them white or green.
Enjoy putting your design on this craft. There is no right or wrong. Just try it!

One year made a few St. Patrick's Day cards using the same color scheme. I used a ruler to make straight lines and colored pencils to fill the flag card. Appreciate that Ireland has a simple to-recreate flag; otherwise, the craft would be more complicated.

I don’t Burn my fingers - New Glue Gun. So Happy!
I had an ancient sears craftsman glue gun for so long that I don’t even remember where I got it (Sears, by my husband, bought it 1981). Unfortunately, it didn’t have any temperature settings, and there was no trigger for applying the glue. So I needed an extra hand to use it. One day my husband used it to fix Lucy’s cat toy. He must have found it difficult because he gifted me a new one a few days later. In the beginning, I still wanted to push the glue stick in, but soon I was used to the new one. It is much easier to use and a must for crafting and repairing. I can’t believe I didn’t upgrade sooner. It is one of the most favorite gifts I have ever received.
2023 Word to Live by - Kindness
We could all use more kindness in our lives, so that is my 2023 word to follow. Rather than making a New Year’s Resolution that is abandoned by February, I select a word to follow throughout the year. This is the third year I have chosen to pick a Word to Live by. My word for 2023 is “kindness.” I think everyone could use more kindness in their lives at this time. Usually, if you are kind to someone, they will return the favor. It is a winning situation for everyone. I feel optimistic that I will be able to follow through using this word often throughout 2023. I have found it helpful to post the word on the refrigerator as a reminder. In 2020, my chosen word was grateful. I was successful at being grateful for so many things during that year. My 2022 word didn’t work quite as well. I didn’t feel as joyful often As I should have, but now as we enter a new year, there is a new word to guide me. A new year means a fresh start.
Helping Kids with crafts at the HOA Winter Festival Westwing HOA Christmas Festival
The Westwing HOA Winter Festival Celebration Was a joyous occasion for helping over 100 children make a tree ornament. They recently headed to a nearby park to help at our Home Owners Association’s annual Winter Festival. Families of the neighborhood came to enjoy the activities. I happily volunteered at the kid’s craft table. Over 100 boys and girls crafted a keepsake tree ornament to take home. It was fascinating to see their different designs. Some adults made ornaments too, but the children’s enthusiasm quickly puts one in a holiday spirit.
Though we couldn’t find a vendor to truck snow to the desert this year, there was still plenty to do. Bounce castles, face painting, and a rock climbing wall were enjoyed by many. The “free” hamburgers were delicious. Santa and Mrs. Claus were a welcome sight, and the Grinch proved popular. The weather was perfect. Everyone seemed to have had a fun time.
Amazing Amaryllis Is Blooming Fast Looks Real Good
The amaryllis bulb has burst with amazingly lush and large vibrant red blooms. Looks so festive and cheerful for the holidays! The flowers can be enjoyed for a few weeks before they whither. At that point, cut them back to within 1 to 2 inches of the bulb. Put the bulb in a 50 to 55-degree temperature for at least 8 to 10 weeks. The dormant phase will help it bloom again. Then replant it and place it in a sunny location with temperatures of 70 to 75 degrees. Start watering again, and there should be new blooms to enjoy after several weeks. The flower should bloom every winter for about 25 years.
Joan Gets a RIng For Christmas - And She is Not Happy.. To to Dump Someone!
My husband has purchased my Christmas present and usually hides them in the same place. I don’t usually do this because I enjoy surprises, but I am anxious to know what he got me. I want to know ahead of time because I asked for a ring. But the suspense is getting to me. He usually puts my presents in his office. He keeps the door locked when he is not working, but I know where he hides the key. We will see if “Santa” has gotten me what I desired. So come on in with me and see what I’m getting. While a list notepad from Dollar Tree is not new, I like the added feature of the small monthly tear-off calendar. Do you ever wonder what day of the week an event is falling on as I do? The calendar provides a quick reference. With the magnet on the back, the pad is easily displayed on the refrigerator.
Amazing Amaryllis Is Growing Fast - Look Real Good
Checking up on the amaryllis we planted a few weeks ago; we discover it is doing fabulously. The stem grew very long. This is only the second time in all my years of planting amaryllis for the holidays that I have found the stem to grow so tall. It may need to be staked so that it doesn’t fall over. Also, Lucy has enjoyed digging in the soil. The bulb has benefitted from being placed in direct sunlight and adequately watered. See where a flower should soon emerge at the top of the stem. I will keep an eye on it and give you an updated video when the flower blooms. It looks very promising.

SPHERE OF FALL LEAVES Fall Decorative Ball – Easy to do and makes a lovely fall decoration. Fun to do. This is an easy craft can do. It is a Fun and very inexpensive project.
To make a decorative sphere of leaves, you need a 4" Styrofoam ball from either Dollar Tree or Wal-Mart and fall-colored leaves—-I purchased mine at Dollar Tree for $1.25, and some glue. A glue gun works best. You will want to alternate the color of the leaves. You can place the glue on the back of the leaf or the ball. Be careful not to burn your fingers. I have a pencil designated to press down on glued items. A popsicle stick also works well. You don't always need fancy supplies. Work with what you have. Overlap the leaves, so you don't see the Styrofoam.
I liked having some of my leaves sticking up. This is your project, and you may glue them down if you prefer. This is a lovely project that is very much in style. (11/25/22 p5).
Christmas Amaryllis a Fun and Easy Craft and Kit This will make your spouse really love you!
Even for the green thumb challenged, this amaryllis kit will produce colorful and large blooms within a few weeks. You will enjoy their beauty for several weeks.
Planting A Majestic Amaryllis
I will be planting an amaryllis bulb that should bloom into a large and majestic flower in 6 to 12 weeks, depending on your region. It can be produced from October until the end of April though it has been a family tradition for several years to grow an amaryllis in the hopes that it will bloom in the New Year. The vibrant color adds cheerfulness after the holiday season is over.
The Amaryllis is believed to be the finest indoor flower. It should be in direct sunlight for at least 6 to 8 hours daily. Much like a sunflower, the bud then gravitates toward the sun.
Test the soil daily for moistness and water accordingly. Finally, the bulb is planted with the neck at or a little bit above the bottom of the pot.

Crafting Hack – Making your own Mod Podge…this is a SECRET so keep it to yourself
Mod Podge is a handy crafting supply.
However, it is surprisingly easy to make if you don't have any.
For Real Easy Mod Podge, You will need
- regular glue, such as Elmer's
- Water.
- 1 c. Measuring cup.
- Something to mix the Mod Podge in. I will use a small mixing bowl.
- Something to store the Mod Podge in. I will use a mason jar.
Something to stir the mixture. I use a popsicle stick. The ratio of glue to Water is 2 to 1. so I measure 1 Cup Of glue, pour it into the bowl, and then measure and add 1/2 c. of Water. I reuse the 1 c measuring cup and eyeball the half. Mix it up and pour it into the storage container. Make sure there is a secure lid. Soak your supplies in Water. Isn't that easy? (11/10/22 P6)

Easy to do and a fun craft. You can add these pens to your desk and bring them in the fall. Everyone will enjoy these pends and will ask you how you made them.
It would help if you had a few items, some floral tape, fall-colored leaves, pens, and A glue gun. I purchased these inexpensively at Dollar Tree.
Wrap the pen in floral tape. Start at the bottom and work to the top. It's sticky, so you don't need any glue. Select your leaf, glue it to the top of the pen, and give it a few seconds to adhere. If you make several with different colored leaves, you will have a valuable and decorative project. (11/2/22 P3)
